On June 22, the Pristine Blue Initiative and a few fantastic friends took on a shoreline cleanup at the Birkdale Ravine/Park on a gorgeous Saturday morning. We were able to fill up a few garbage bags in less than 2 hours plus a metal shopping cart and a rubber mat. The garbage included significant amounts of plastic bags and food wrappers, especially along the banks of the creek where a few courageous friends dared to go down along the banks and collect the most garbage. The park trail was very noticeably clean but most of the waste collected was found along the banks of the creek. It was important to stay hydrated on this hot summer day and watch for ticks.
